Ryan Palmer

Creative Director

Ryan Palmer is the Creative Director at Ryan Leckey Media, a title that essentially means he gets paid to tell people their font choices are wrong and aggressively point at Pantone swatches. Before arriving at RLM, Ryan survived ten years as the Creative Director at Gilson Snow. There, he oversaw product design, managed massive brand collaborations with Hasbro, Sesame Street, and Peanuts, and acquired a deeply unhinged, highly specific knowledge of exactly how much childhood nostalgia you can legally cram onto a piece of wood you strap to your feet.

A graduate of the New York Film Academy, Ryan spent his early career in the New York indie film scene as a boom operator and sound mixer. This translates to eight years of holding a heavy stick just out of frame while silently judging actors who couldn’t remember their lines. He later pivoted to live broadcast production, spending a couple of character-building years at WNEP 16 before embarking on a nearly decade-long run directing and engineering for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders broadcasts. Across both roles, he kept local TV and stadium screens alive using a combination of technical wizardry, Gaff tape, and sheer spite.

When he isn't agonizing over the microscopic kerning of a headline that literally no one else on earth will notice, Ryan is an avid snowboarder who spends nine months of the year complaining about the lack of snow in Pennsylvania, and the other three complaining about the lift lines. He is also a passionate golfer who proudly holds several course records for the highest volume of golf balls confidently driven directly into a water hazard. As an ambitious home chef, his primary culinary technique involves dirtying every single pot, pan, and utensil in the kitchen to make a meal that takes exactly four minutes to eat.
